I know a lot of people have been saying things but nothing, from what I have read has been stated as definate as of yet. I just phoned The Hideout and they confirmed they are closing at the end of this year and Bathing Ape is likely to be closed for a while as they have not as yet got their new location sorted. I know this isn't exactly new news but its confirmation.

I would be doubtful they are closing for ever. The current shop will have to go regardless at the end of the year, as the whole block is being knocked down and redeveloped. They just probably havent sorted out a new location and a shop fit.

I am sure they will reopen later on somewhere else and its just a case of at the moment they really dont know where this will be.

some fluxus denim was there and some visvim tees and hoods

its worth a look

Its more than possible because Hideout guys are friends with Bape so they used to get stuff sent to them, even long before they started selling it in store.

TBH I think its just shops leases coming up for renewal and Gimme 5 evaluating the state of the economy, nothing more sinister. People arent spending money at all so to open a fancy store which costs a lot of money is madness.

They will probably come back bigger and better in the future once things have leveled out. Remember every country is feeling the pinch even the ones who are normally affluent so its a domino effect.

I personally dont mind that they will be shut for a bit, I like them and the guys in there but I will save loads of money :)

Therefore no need for both to out straight away, and I guess the landlords will be keen to keep the shops running instead of trying to fill with someone new and will offer a reduction in rent until the redevelopment can go forward.
