What Happened to BAPE Collaborations? Skatething?

It seems that a lot of people feel that Nigo is running out of ideas. I wholeheartedly agree. He's recycling his old designs WAY TOO much. My question is...what happened with his relationship with Skatething? He designed the sickest designs (og BBC logo, shark hoody, etc). Kaws collab was sick also but we all know why they're not working together.

I think you're right. So if skatething is still working for Bape, why is there no fresh ideas? That upcoming fish hoody is not a skatething collab and IMO the most uncreative full zip face idea ever. Another Futura collab would be nice but unlikely due to Futura Laboratories.

Meh instead of collaborations I think he should sit down and find some new design..Cause we all know collabs often lead to hype(Supreme x NBHD). But I would like to see some collabs nonetheless.

I remembered in an interview that KAWS mentioned that he and Nigo had agreed to work together for 3 years only, that was basically the terms of their contract

i think he should work with stash and a couple of other graffiti artists as well as maybe other clothing labels? nigo is like nike sb. his best stuff comes from collabs. nothing is topping the kaws stuff IMO.

I dont think Nigo is losing his creativity.. The neons are new and the roadsta's.
He's basically milking out all his previous hits for all its worth. I'm pretty sure he'll have bigger things coming in soon or later.

Skatething never worked for Bape though. He designed the original camo, probably owns a stake in Bape and does collabs with lots of labels.


Surely Nigo doesnt design stuff anymore he has a team of designers who come up with the ideas.

As for Collabs I dont think Nigo will work with Kaws again as he doesnt seem to repeat collaborations, he is unlikely to work with Futura and Stash because when Futura did stuff for MHI Nigo wasnt pleased, because Fu & Stash were supposed to be on an exclusive contract with Bape.

As for future collabs I would love to see a Bape x Delta or a Bape x She One crossover.
