I read somewhere on a post here that someone was selling a tailored hoody. Has anyone ever tried this? If so, how did it work out for you? I have a Sta hoody that's a little big for me & am considering having it tailored.

not if it's onlly "a little" too big
go to one of those places where it's 2 old women and some old machines they'll do a bo selecta! job
my mate got it done with some evisus, they measured him up, wasn't just some raggo yeah yeah 30 quid vibes
seriously they're very skilled, who put your bape hoody together anyway?

This makes me so sad. If you know it was too big for you ... then you should have left it on the shelf for someone else.
But seriously.. it is done all the time. Just to to an experienced tailor and ask them to take it in.
I usually wear a size L in hoodies and they only had XL left so I went with it. It's just a little too baggy and sleeves are just a bit too long. This may sound like a stupid question but can tailors do something about that?

So getting a hoody tailored won't mess up the design if its a few inches bigger than your size?

depends where it's baggy
all they do is adjust where the seam is "taking it in"
it's easier to adjust a bigger item to fit a smaller person then the other way round as there is more material to play with, so if when you're 50 you've developed a gut, well go visit them again and get it let out then die on the toilet eating cheeseburgers

fixing overall bagginess (sleeves, body) will be pretty expensive cos you're basically reconstructing the garment. tailoring will also kill resale value if that's a consideration, esp if you are undoing the side seam that has the tag stitched in.

yep...gotta be careful, i got a shirt tailored once, and made it clear that they were to keep the tags on the side seam, and they forgot.so STRESS that issue.

I need a good tailor in the NYC area. Would like to hem a few jeans and not ruin the cut. Any suggestions?

i would never......trade or sell it for your size
the original stitching is way too on-point to go fucking with...

I get lots of my bape gear tailored -
Scout shirt
Bape Knits
shorts taken in
jeans tapered -just a tad.
Agree with Cinderblock tho.. the stiching on the hoodies is bang on. I have been deciding on doing my grey shark as large is too wide at the waist band.
S & S tailoring in Charing X station arches London is my place

I would be careful about the hoodie cuz its the sta hoodie. The stas might look all retarded when the tailor is done. Maybe something with one straight body color like a shark or tiger might be a lil better. But I would never cut up that hoodie...so i guess its an all around NO!!!

^^^^Cosign Chaos.... I had a bunch of XL's that dont fit. Best option is to resell and buy the right size. Even if its your grail. Nothing can compare to a perfectly fitting Bape hoody........LOL!
this guy i was talking to today, was saying hes gonna completely re-do his hoody, hes got a black swarv and a black camo shark, hes gonna combine the 2
u can think of what that would look like
or.........
you can just check this one out.

real cool...u destroyed 2 BAPE hoodies to make what is essentially a FAPE hoody
plus the big BAPE lettering kills it. y don't you just dye a ultimate camo shark black?
fyi, its digital dude.
and essentially its not FAPE, both products are real
hes not mass producing these in china
its him expressing himself and his love for BAPE
oh and the money he gets from both of his businesses
basically proving he doesnt stress cuz his wallet wont be empty

I've been taking my zig zag around because it's too big but everyone I take it to says they don't have the machine to do whatever kinda stitching there is on the side of the hoodie. Has anyone else had this problem?
